Quick Day Trip

Quick day trips are sometimes the best trips! Our downtown Jonesboro manager, Seth Freeman, is a day trip expert—in terms of fishing trips. Seth recently took up fly fishing as a new hobby and fell in love with the sport.

Where: “I usually go to the Little Red River and Spring River to take advantage of all the beautiful nature that Arkansas has to offer.”

Why: “You can leave in the morning, fish for the day, and then have an easy commute home. The convenience makes it even easier to jump in the car on my day off and enjoy the great outdoors.”

What: “I have a lot of product favorites, but here are some of the best things I find myself continually bringing along.”

1. Suunto Spartan Sport — “This watch tracks distance and activity from sun up to sun down. It keeps up with sunrise and sunset, so it allows you to keep track of how much longer you have on the water throughout the day.”

2. Patagonia Waders — “These are my favorite because the of the detail and features they have to offer. One of my favorites features would have to be the the hand warmer pockets for cold days on the water.”

3. Patagonia Black Hole Duffel — “This bag is awesome for waders and all the essentials. With various size options and extreme flexibility, the bag is perfect!”

4. Simms G4 pro hip pack — “Perfect for holding a fly box carrier and a rain jacket (just in case!).”

5. Arc’teryx Vest — “This is a must to layer for warmth. My personal favorite is the Cerium.”

6. Hydroflask — “This keeps me hydrated throughout the day, as well as keeps my drink either hot or cold (water vs. coffee).”

7. Patagonia Lightweight Wading Boot — “These are the perfect weight and will always be my go-to fishing boot.”

You’ve heard it from the man himself—gather up your gear and GO! #itsGOtime
