Amanda Herget, Program Director
Ted Herget, Project 90 Founder
Project 90 founder, Ted Herget, says someone gave him the gift of running more than 15 years ago and he wants to share that gift with others. Ted has logged thousands of miles and remained injury free since he began running properly, and he’s ready to show you how you can do the same. With the help of his wife and program director, Amanda Herget, along with their Project 90 team, Ted has compressed the basics of running properly into a 90 day program. Before the program begins we’d like to introduce you to our Project 90 team. Stay tuned as we share their stories over the next few weeks. We hope you’ll let us be a part of your run journey! The revolution begins July 19th.
Amanda Herget is the co-owner of Gearhead Outfitters. She has been running for 12 years and follows the walk/run method in all her long runs and races. After switching to the walk/run method, she took 10 minutes off her half and full marathon times. Amanda directed the Women Can Run couch to 5K program in Jonesboro for eight years, and still serves as a group leader. Women Can Run is a free running and walking clinic for women in the state of Arkansas. The Jonesboro clinics are co-sponsored by Gearhead Outfitters. Amanda promotes exercise, healthy living and eating, and loves to share her knowledge with others. She has completed several events from 5K to marathon distance races, but the half marathon distance is her favorite.
Ted Herget is the founder and owner of Gearhead Outfitters. He is passionate about living and promoting a healthy lifestyle. He was taught proper running form in his early 20’s by Tim Deboom, who happens to be his best friend. Ted was then willing to share his knowledge with anyone who would listen, sparking the dream of Project 90. He along with his wife and co-workers developed this program to help others learn, in the least complicated way, the proper way to run for life. Ted has competed in 40+ marathons, ultra-marathons (including two 100 mile races), LeadMan series, triathlons (10+Ironman distance), and bike races.
