In August of 2015, we opened the doors to our Fayetteville store on Dickson Street. One of the many reasons Gearhead Outfitters decided to expand to this area of Northwest Arkansas was because of the energetic college atmosphere the town had to offer, and the vibrant culture NWA has to offer. Find out more about what makes our Fayetteville store so unique and meet the manager, Clayton Harbers!

E: How long have you worked at Gearhead Outfitters? Tell me about your role in the company.
C: I have worked for Gearhead for almost two years now, but have grown up with the company. I am currently the manager for the Fayetteville store on Dickson Street.
E: What is it like working at the Dickson Street location?
C: Our workplace is always upbeat and welcoming.
E: What makes your store and staff unique?
C: Our location sets us apart for other stores in the area and even other stores throughout the company. We have such a great opportunity to feel the pulse of the university with being just a golf ball swing away from campus.
E: What does your team do for fun?
C: All of my staff is in college or just recently graduated, so they are definitely energetic and make me realize I'm getting old! For fun they like planning frisbee golf, going out for a camping trip, or hitting up Dickson Street after they get done studying.
E: What's one food item you would find in the break room?
C: I would say we always have granola bars in the back, but they don't last very long around hungry college students.
E: How do you personally motivate your team?
C: Our team is motivated to have a lasting relationship with the customers. Whether it's a sale or not, we want every customer to feel like they are always welcome in our store — even if it's just to hangout!
E: What is your team's biggest strength?
C: Our team's biggest strength is the fact that we can personally connect with every customer that comes in. Whether it be a Northwest Arkansas local, member of the Arkansas football team, Greek life, or the average student, we have someone that can relate with them.
E: Why should people shop at your store?
C: I think people should shop with us because we truly have their best interest in mind. We aren't out to make a huge sale, but instead make sure we get the customer the exact product they want and need. If we don't have the right product, we will find it for them and point them in the right direction.
You can visit Clayton and the rest of the Gearhead Fayetteville staff Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
